SUMMARY:Beaks & Feet - Where do I Live  and What do I Eat?
DESCRIPTION:An opportunity for homeschoolers provided at no charge by th
 e Athol Bird and Nature Club.\nNaturalist Ernie LeBlanc and educator Cat
 hy Szal will offer a class for homeschoolers ages 8-12 years old.\nUsing
  our natural history collection\, we will look at different species of b
 irds and consider how their beaks and feet offer clues about what they e
 at and where they live. We’ll explore what adaptations make birds uniq
 ue\, looking at their skeletons\, feathers\, and overall body structure.
  Different types of feathers will be examined under microscopes to disco
 ver the unique characteristics helping birds survive and function.\n\nTh
 e class will be held at the Millers River Environmental Center from 10:0
 0-12:00. There will be a limit of 10 students/class. We’ll have a snac
 k break\, so bring a snack if you’d like one. All equipment and materi
 als will be supplied. An adult will need to accompany participating stud
 ents.\n\n*We’ll add a second class on November 10. 2026 if interest is
