Veteran Trip leader Mark Taylor from Northfield led the Club’s first field trip of the century to the Massachusetts Coast at Cape Ann. Frigid temperatures with a low of the day recorded at -9 degrees F in Templeton on the way down and not rising above 18 degrees F at any point in the day. “Sea Smoke” rising off the ocean water and a brisk sea breeze kept the eleven hearty birders close to the warm vehicles. In spite of the severe weather a good collection of birds were observed by the group. Here is the list as reported by Mark before he and club members Butch Labrie, James Mallet and Mike Plotkin dashed off  for a weeks birding in Texas.
