Unless otherwise noted, programs meet at the Millers River Environmental Center, 100 Main Street, Athol. If weather is questionable on a field trip day, please call the trip leader at least an hour before the scheduled meeting time.
Saturday September 13, 7:30 am Fall Migrants at Plum Island
Joan and Larry Duprey will be leading this trip to one of the best birding spots in the Eastern United States. Migrating songbirds and shorebirds should be present in good numbers and anything can show up on the island. Meet at the Center 7:30 am Info: Joan or Larry Duprey, 978-249-4964

September 17, 2014 at 6:00pm Expedition Beaver
Join Ranger Sarah Mildren from Tully Lake Campground on Expedition Beaver, a beaver scouting canoe/kayak trip on the Tully River. We will meet at the campground, and paddle up the river toward Long Pond, examining beaver activity along the way. Ranger Sarah will share some fascinating beaver facts as we keep our eyes peeled for the critters in their natural habitat. Bring your own boat, or rent one at the campground. The rental fee of $5.00 will be waived for ABNC members. There is limited space on this field trip, so please RSVP by sending an email to smmildren@gmail.com Rain date: September 18, 2014
Saturday September 20 10 am – 5 pm “8th Annual Fungus Fair”Mushroom enthusiasts will again descend upon the Millers River Environmental Center for a fun-gi filled day of talks, mushroom forays and culinary delights. Mushroom experts Noah Siegel, David Spahr, and Alissa Allen will be featured speakers. $5.00 admission and open to all.
